COVID-19: Online Platform to Help Foreigners in Financial Fragile Situation Launched

The Ministry of Human Rights, Relations with Constitutional Bodies and Civil Society announced on Monday the launch of an online platform on www.aide-covid19.tn to help foreigners stranded in Tunisia in these times of pandemic.

In a press release, the ministry mentions foreigners in a situation of financial fragility, citing students, emigrants and asylum seekers as examples.

“This electronic platform will make it possible to receive requests for assistance, formulated by the persons concerned or by the organisations representing them, to receive offers of donations and aid in kind and in cash which could be provided by natural or legal persons.

The web site also aims to help in the fight against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic and to maintain links with voluntary initiatives launched by civil society.

In this context, the Ministry highlighted the creation of a committee composed of representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Higher Education, national and international organisations and civil society to monitor the situation of some foreigners established in Tunisia.
